Trade between Scandinavia and China is growing and this increases the need for routes to China.
Copenhagen Airport has just opened its first direct all-cargo route operation to China, with a Shanghai-Beijing-Copenhagen-Shanghai route now being operated by Air Cargo China. In the future the airline company will operate the route tree times a week with all-cargo planes of the Boeing 747-200 type. Copenhagen is Air China Cargo’s second destination in Europe.
The number of all-cargo routes from Copenhagen to Asian destinations has risen sharply in the last couple of years. Apart from the new route to Shanghai/Beijing, Boeing 747 cargo planes have ten departures a week to Singapore and Seoul.
The opening of the new route is the result of Copenhagen Airport’s efforts to attract new airlines and reinforce its position as northern Europe’s all-cargo hub, writes the airport in a press release.
