In terms of employment within the logistics sector in the Øresund Region there was 77.148 people in 2004.

The employment distributed on sub-sectors is shown in the figure below. The figure shows that among the four different modes of transportation road transport is predominant.

The turnover in these sub-sectors shows a somewhat different picture where the sea transport is absolutely dominating as shown in the figure below with the huge Danish shipping companies accounting for 64 per cent of the turnover.
